Our Mission

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide a logical, custom, detailed pathway through education, sports training, financial and life literacy. Our mission is to cater to each child as an individual in bridging the gap between traditional K-12 learning and much-needed life basics to assist in identifying and preparing them for success.

Our Vision

Lighting Pathways to Success

"Don’t forget to do good and to share what you have...

Hebrews 13:16

About the Academy.

Sutton Academy was legally established July 2022. However, our vision was birthed back in 2015. We have had the privilege of helping so many young people over the years. Some children required financial assistance, some academic tutoring, and others simply needed someone who would listen. We decided to start this non-profit with hopes that others would see our vision as we do and financially assist and volunteer some time to help build up each and every child that we can. We teach dignity, respect, integrity and most importantly SUCCESS!

Primarily we use a self-designed curriculum that ranges from life literacy to financial wellness. In addition to this curriculum, we use several methods to obtain information from each child, this information is then used to create a personal detailed blueprint that they can carry with them for years to come.

We have many programs, one of which is called “Mission Entre.” Mission Entre’ focuses on individuals who have decided to be young entrepreneurs to meet some needs they may have while in high school. After a calculated plan has been established, we use donated monies to fund their project to get them started. While programs such as these are active, the child(ren) will work directly with a financial advisor to establish healthy saving and investment habits.

Lead Servants.

Dexter and his wife Keta have assisted many children in Lawrence County as well as out of county/state out of their pockets. Dexter has worked at Georgia Pacific of Monticello for 12 years. He is the storeroom manager at this location. His wife Keta currently works as a nurse for Lawrence County Nursing Center in Monticello, MS. They make a decent living and are blessed to be able to give back and assist our youth, however, they are at a point where they could use some financial assistance. They have access to the youth and they know they can help many more children with donations and volunteers.

The Sutton Academy has always had one mission, “Shine a light on our youth so that their futures are brighter” We believe in keeping our community safe and educated. This belief starts with our children. If we can change the mindset of one child, we have faith that, that one child can influence dozens of other children, if not more. We have licensed professionals who work closely with our children, to formulate a career pathway specialized to each child. We understand that college may be a struggle for some, this is why we shed light on several other opportunities such as trades, entrepreneurship, and hands-on training with some of our local volunteers. No doubt about it, we encourage college, but we understand that some children are needed and shine brighter in others specialty areas. Our duty is to uncover and help develop their gift(s).

Over the years we have worked with individuals through sports training and conditioning. We offer one on one football/ basketball training to children who shows interest and need assistance.

We are open to anyone who has questions and we are transparent with how we assist our babies at Sutton Academy. So feel free to ask!
